COVID-19 has unified every section of the society and everyone has shown exemplary zeal to fight the crisis and bring the situation as close to normal as possible. Government, both at the center and the state, have also not left any stone unturned in their bid to bring respite to people in a situation that calls for arrangements at war footing.
Keeping the gravity of situation in mind Delhi Government has launched an online portal where the construction workers can get themselves registered with the government. It will be worth recounting here that at present there are around 40,000 construction workers registered with the Construction Workers’ Welfare Board which is headed by Delhi Development Minister Gopal Rai.The portal will also have registration and renewal facility which will make it doubly effective.
Speaking on the occasion Mr.Rai said that there are many unregistered construction labourers in Delhi. The said portal, he further illustrated, is an attempt to overcome the registration and renewal-related issues as the construction workers now get an opportunity to register themselves for fresh application and renewal.
Delhi government has also taken a decision to offer financial assistance of Rs. 5000 to the construction labourers who are facing difficulties in the times of lockdown.
These, as well as many other measures have ensured that the country as a whole stand up to the COVID-19 crisis andslowly but surely shows signs of returning to normalcy.
